Weather in South Africa

Generally speaking, you can't go wrong with the climate in South Africa, but.... this is winter and you have to know that the place gets VERY cold in places, so make sure you pack more than your shorts and flip flops. On the plus side, it is the best time of year to go game viewing because the winter time is traditionally dry i.e. it doesn't rain (except in Cape Town). The dry weather means animals have to come out of the bush to get to water and the bush itself is a lot thinner making it easier to spot them.

As we are talking about a World Cup, the lack of rain has to be a good thing!
